Axle Bushing Replacement on a 2000 SE

Has anyone ever had to have their (driver's side) axle bushing's replaced?

If so, I want to see what the cost was. I have a shop telling me it's about $800.00.

They said they'd have to drop the tranny and press them in from the inside of the tranny housing. Sounds like that's the only way to do it.

I have been on a quest to stop tranny fluid from leaking for a few weeks now. I am having the axle replaced today ($150.00) to see if that gets it, if not, I'll be getting rid of the Maxima! I've already had the axle seal replaced, and no luck. I just had a #4 cylinder ignition coil go out and I'm sure the others are on thier way out as well.

Bad first time owner experiences for sure!!!
