My A/C compressor makes a lot of noise. Sounds like a bird chirping. Is this sound typical of all Maxima A/C's? Advice please.

 

If you've isolated the noise to the compressor, then I would start with an evac/recharge of the system with fresh 134 and oil. If that doesnt quiet it down, then the compressor needs repair or replacement, not an inexpensive proposition.
Could also be the belt slipping a little bit on the pulley?

 

It sounds more like the belt. Its like that on a lot of cars.

 

Hit the belts with some WD-40 and see if that works. If not then take it to get looked at, don't want the A/C busted when it's starting to get HOT out.
