Dustboots ?

Question, for those who are using aftermarket struts (tokico, KYB, etc).. did you:

1. use the original dustboot and trim the bumpstop? would the original
dustboot *FIT* the aftermarket struts?

2. you purchase a new set of bumpstops for your brand of strut?

I *think* Housecor had a thread about it.. but I don't have the search function.. can anyone answer the above and/or link the thread if you guys have saved it..

Appreciate the help!

i purchased another set of dustboots when i changed my springs and struts out at 33K. my orginal ones were just fine and they didnt need replacing but i just wanted to have them just in case.

the bumpstops and dustboot are one piece. just order the dustboot and the bumpstop is at the top of the dustboot. i trimmed my bumpstop to spec. there is no need to cut the dustboot. pull the bumpstop out of the dustboot, trim to spec, then put the bumpstop back in the dustboot.

this is what the bumpstop looks like inside of the dustboot. this is the part that you would trim if needed:
