Engine Mount

My 2002 Maxima has a broken bracket on my down tube , and have been told by two places that my engine mount is broken. I took it to Nissan "Pacific Nissan" and was told that the bracket is broken, but that my engine mounts are in good shape.. What should I do?

What is a down tube and why are you questioning the motor mounts? More information please.

The down tube comes out of the exhaust manifold. It is part of the exhaust system. The part itself is about $800; I see that the bracket is attached to the frame of the Maxima and the down tube. I am told that the reason for this bracket breaking is because there is too much tilt in the engine when under acceleration or when in gear with the break on (such as sitting at a light).
