I just put on my RSB and cant really tell that much of a difference. Is it because my coilovers are already stiff?

The ride almost seems the same. Anyone else have the RSB + JIC?

 

try to take a corner at about 10mph faster then you would have before the RSB was on, thats the only way i noticed a difference on mine

 

I did that and I hardly notice anything...its weird.

 

you can't tell a diff. because you did everything in the wrong order. I put on my RSB first and noticed a big diff, in rear slosh. Then I got JICs and I noticed obviously a huge huge super mango huge diff, in handling. I think the only way that you will notice the use of the RSB now that you have the JICs is maybe go to a track and run with it, and then without it(pushin the car to the limit), and then maybe you will notice it helping.

ok. Take your car out into an empty parking lot, start driving in a tight circle, once you hit about 25 mph, slam on the brakes

you will notice a difference as your tail slides out and you spin a few times haha.

 

I heard that you're supposed to re-tighten the bolts after 1 week. I've re-tightened mine and it's becoming loose again.

How do the JiC coilovers handle anyway? I have never driven a max with this suspension setup. Does it corner anything like the 350Z? How much was the suspension setup? Do you guys think it was worth it?

 

That was my exact same experience. Here was my suspension saga:

sway bar - nice, cheap, tightened up the rear end a lot

JIC A2's - WOW!! Car handles freakin' awesome now

Front strut bar - yeah, a bit tighter around corners, but not as effective as the other two, but by far the cheapest.

I highly recomend all three of the above, only problem is that that JIC's are $$$.

 

Well the dynamics of our suspension will never allow the max to handle like the 350. But I would (best comparison) call the max with JICs about the same as a BMW on a 'perscription srength dose' of steroids.

Back to the dynamics of the suspension. Honda has a really good suspension set up, with the upper control arms and such, we as nissan owners don't have that luxury. Our suspension 'dynamics' are not capible of handling as good as say a honda. For further proof, just look at the honda nissan challenge race they had a while back.......the hondas won because of there superior suspension setup, even so much better to make up for the lack of HP.

 

if it was FWD vs FWD then yeah.. but RWD belongs to nissan no question. The GT-R, the Z and the G35 both hold their own in each category of handling. The FM platform has a double wishbone front suspension and a true multi-link rear suspension.

I'd say the mods that made the biggest difference in handling in order were 1. JIC's, 2. RSB, and 3. energy suspension bushings. It handled great with the JIC's and the RSB but boy did the bushings really tighten everything up!

here are the order of suspension mods that I had installed:

fstb - not much difference
rsb - was able to kick out the rear end on corners, but with mad body roll without aftermarket supsension
JIC's - this makes my car feel so solid. I can't kick out the rear as much, but the body roll and dipping of the body under acceleration has disappeared. if my car was rwd, I would be in heaven
