Y-Pipe Break in Period???

I have been warned that between the first week to 3 weeks (depending on how much you drive) that the y-pipe will be significantly louder than it will be after this period and that it gives off the apparently infamous "bees in a can" sound I've heard about...how bad is this noise, how long does it really last, and how loud was it after it was broken in such as idling, driving normally, then punching it (the only other mod i have performance wise is a place racing CAI...so i assume it won't increase noise that much but rather accentuate the CAI growl)

It lasted for only a few days on my car with a Budget. Now it sounds awesome. If you look inside your pipe you can probably see some rough spots where there are metal flakes and such. I think mine was caused by the rough spots in the pipe that eventually got smoothed out by the exhaust flow. I am relieved that I don't have any banging or bees in the can noise.

i had never had any trouble with my warpspeed y pipe.. sound wise... a little clearance issue but thats resolved
however.. for you to notice full hp gain it will take a few days.. and maybe a couple of weeks for the ECU to get used to the mod...
