Whats up with the alarm?

I finally got my 02 max today. I turned the car off in my garage and left it in the ignition like I do with all my cars. I cam back a little while later and opened the door and the alarm went off. Is there a way to turn this obnoxious feature off? I looked through the manual and didn't see anything about it. Maybe I didn't get any additional booklets that might have had this information in it.

You left the keys in the car, in the ignition and the alarm went out when u opend the door awhile later? The factory alarm doesnt arm unless its armed by the factory remote. Maybe you have an aftermarket alarm installed, did you buy it used?

Was the door locked before you opened it?

Yes, we just got it used. I was looking at the manual and saw a lojack card, so I guess it has it and that stupid thing makes the alarm go off all the time. Its ridiculous, you can't open the doors even if they are unlocked, the alarm goes off no matter what. Is it also normal for the car to make a beed sound and the horn quickly honk when you lock it from the remote? I definitely will have to have something done about that stupid feature or just have the whole thing removed.

Yes, the way Lojack works is that the alarm system is so annoying the thief can't stand it and brings the car back to you.

Haha, that was good. But seriously, how idiotic is that, the alarm goes off when the doors are UNLOCKED! Thats just about the stupidest think I have ever heard of. Gonna have this fixed as quick as possible. I have the keys on top of the car right now in my garage because of this idiocracy.

yea the car beeps for a quick sec when you lock it. to stop this hold the lock and unlock button for a couple of seconds till the hazards flash and it will be muted. however i'm not sure how lo'jack factors into this.
