yes, another headlight bulb thread....

guys, just looking for a freaking straight answer....too much bs in alot of the other threads on this subject....

anyhow...I'm not satisfied with the Eurolite bulbs that I got....not white enough, especially now that I've switched my fogs to yellow (PIAA Ion bulbs with Lamin-X yellow film - very yellow)....not a good contrast.

so......what I would like to know is: what is a bulb (for NON-HID headlights!) that shines pure white. I don't want any purple or blue color....just something that is really white.

Would REALLY appreciate some pics from non-HID guys using various bulbs, and opinions as to which are the whitest (I know alot of you guys have had many different bulbs...

thanks in advance for replies!

as far as halogens go i've only used stock and silvania silverstars. the silverstars put out a good fairly white light, but they're not much to look at from outside the car. from experience with other polarg products (turn signals, reverse lights, corner lights etc.), when they say white, they mean WHITE. so maybe check out some of the polarg H4's from ebay.

polarg do say white, but they also produce a nice light tint of blue. Irish, you should know, the polarg reverse lights are bright white but also have a little blue in them too.

Silverstars have that yellow halogen look to them. PIAA Xtreme whites have a little blue in them but are a little whiter. I've owned both and honestly, it is a tough choice. The Silverstars out lasted the PIAAs though.

I have the Xtreme White Piaa Bulbs for my front turn Signals. However, they look kinda greenish. Its pretty bright though but I just don't like the greenish tint that it puts out through the signal lens (corner). Does anyone have this same problem? What bulbs would you suggest I put instead of the Piaa Xtreme that would put out a better white light?

Depending on the bulb you can wire a homemade high capacity harness and run all the wattage you can juice to them. I am not however sure if that will have adverse affects on the housing (heat + fog).

I never realized none of their products are actually available for the outdated h3/4 sockets.

I've seen them in action in other cars and they are well worthy.
