Do 2002-03 headlights fit into 2000-01?
I have 2000 and I am planning to get 02-03 headlights.
I need to make sure that they will fit before I order them.

You'll need to do some re-wiring. My friend who re-wired his lights to the 02-03s said he can't go back to the old lights cuz he cut his harnesses that hook up to the 00-01 housing.

Here's what the black housing looks like.

More pics at my cardomain site.

These are plug-and-play, no re-rewiring. The angel eyes require tapping into the parking lights or the side markers, or you can wire it up so that you can turn it on or off anytime. The projectors are H3 bulbs, the hi-beams (inboard) are H1s. I'll send you thread info on the chromes and black housings. These threads have been around for awhile.

It take some time getting use to it. The beam pattern is kinda weird. I forgot to mention that the ebay seller's name I bought the projectors from is Fairlady_X. He gave me shipping info in a timely manner and I got what I wanted.

Is it brighter? And are the "angel eyes" like those you see on bimmers and the I35's with running lights on, just a glow from the headlights?

They do fit. Wiring is not that complicated. And if you plan to go back to 00-01 lights, you can go back. You simply connect them back matching the wire colors. If you plan to go to 2k2-2k3 head lights, hit me up with an IM or email and I'll be glad to help you out. Quite simple if you ask me. I just did my swap last week and these hids are bright as hell! As far as projectors go
here's some pics of my lights

I heard that on 02-03 they don't line up perfectly and leave a little gap, is that true?

Ok, I don't want to upgrade to HID, I would like to but not right now. I like the projector look, but is the performance of the projectors better compared to oem 2k lights?

Summary

Would be great if someone could post a summary on this topic and post on faq like I did with Hella 90mm: http://faq.auto.light.tripod.com/hella-90mm/
In example avail colors, what colors matches best on variuos body colors, closeup pics of connectors. How are they compared to OEM? No doubt that halo ring and H3 projetcor quality sucks. It needs to be mentioned what OEM HID projector units that actually fits as a replacement to H3 projector... in example is a 2002+ Hella Bi-Xenon projector too large? Procedure for removing front glas... Procedure for removing halo rings... Helo rings belong on the genuine car BMW in my taste.. Anything else is just being a copycat.
