Get a freaking boat. Obviously you like water sports.

You should be thankful they are paying you the $. That was not a normal incident. Bottom line, you had an aftermarket mod, which fuqed-up the car. Without the INGEN, there would not have been the same damage. So be happy with the $ you are getting. Not to mention, you did not have to drive through the water. Is it common practice, with you, to do stupid $hit like that?

You wrote: "I was hoping to get something around 20K back at least". That is unappreciative of you to no end. You could have not gotten a dime, cause of your water adventure.

SO all the ORG is all-sorry for you. I was, until you post crap like that. Grow-up and take the $ and don't put on mods you can't handle

In this case you won. But it’s PARTLY cause of idiots like you that our insurance rates go up

PHEW…Okay flame away…

dude nismo, you think the max came down in price, everyone i know who has bought that german crap has hated it plus selling a german car is like selling a boat, you have to wait forever to get some sucker to come along as dumb as you where and buy the thing , maximas are hot, they resell very well, and had you not flooded it you would still be happy with the car. so why settle for something you know you won't like as much, trust me i've already made this mistake....... g/l

I admit i'm not too smart to drive through the water, and I learned my lession quite well.

Now You obviously got a lot of anger, and you had to come online and post useless threads like this and waste people's resources, you are not making yourself too useful. I'm very thankful to those people who helped me out on this fourm and gave me advice, instead of a person obviously with a low self-esteem( BTW, I'm talking about you) that needs to bash other people's misfortune to make yourself feel better. I just want to let you know I'm Very Happy as of now that I am able to get a new car and love it, like I love my old Max. So you can go F__K yourself.

Maxima.org wouldn't be the AWSOME car club today if there's was more people like you.

I like the idea of buying the car back and put in a used motor and more or less ending up with a $6000 fatter wallet.
VW's do eat things like window lift motors. My dealer is a Nissan VW and Kia dealer, so I asked the owner which car has the most problems, Kia? He says noooooo.
The insurance payout sounds right on the mark.

Anything you buy is going to depreciate 35% or so in 2 years.

I had a S4 before already, I'm also Audi Master Certified and know a thing or 2 bout em. I also know how to make it reliable and quick using factory parts- turbos etc to make 500HP. Only reason I drive a Maxima is cause thats all I could afford at the time, and being a die hard Nissan fan I bought the maxima on a impulse buy.

Thanks for the heads up on VW's, I always thought those 1.8T's are capable of some performance and fuel economy at the same time. Thats why I even look into VW's in the first place.

I'm going to hit the Subaru Dealer and check out the Legacy GT Turbo, I'll let you guys know what happens. I also might return as a Nissan owner in a Alti 3.5SE, we'll see.

You obviously are lacking manners, to cuss at ppl like that. If you have a problem with what i posted, keep it civil. What I wrote is right on. I am sick of cry babies like you. If you read what I wrote, and actually use that pea sized brain if yours, you may understand what I meant. I have no anger against you or anyone else. Bottom line is that your stupidity caused your car to get totalled. That's all there is 2 it. So stop bi@tching and crying, and buy another car and do the same thing over again. And if you want to cuss at me, bring it to PM.

Ha Ha "Bring it to PM"? Are you like 12?? or Still in High School? With person like you, I'm plenty generous and full of manners, I would smack you in the head if I was your dad and making fun of other people's misfortune. Second, I wasn't crying about my car, instead looking for advice and opinion. You obviously didn't read the whole thread, and start imagining things.

I would not cuss at you if you act like an adult, btw......you are obviously not mature enough to talk to me about manners, so we'll leave it at that. <-- You still get a thumbs down for your maturity level.

P.S. BTW, How is putting up Icons like and showing me that you are actually a matured person? It only shows me you don't give a $hit and don't care. Then why did you even come in here and post?? If thats not wasting valuable resources on .org, what is?

I don't know if nismotech did violate the terms of insurance or not but if he did and doesn't deserve coverage because of it, then he's wrong and very lucky to be getting coverage, plain and simple. On the other hand, the insurance companies are criminal thugs under corporate logos that have been raping all of us for a long time. So if he was able to get one in under their radar, good for him!

His comprehensive coverage allows for flood coverage. Some insurance companies are customer service oriented and cut checks like crazy, because it makes them $$, good reputation, etc. Others go over things with a fine-toothed comb. He had a loss within policy periods, he filed a water damage claim, they missed the fact he had an aftermarket air filter device. Or maybe they didn't and chose not to make an issue of it. Either way, you seem like you would have been content if they would have denied his claim. Whatever the case is you sound bitter about something.

Personally, my belief is that he didn't misrepresent anything, he didn't try and return it to stock, and he didn't falsify anything. Regardless of whether or not it was a bright idea to try and ford a river aside, his claim was legit. He got just deserves.

Trust me, if you miss your insurance payment, you wont get leeway. So don't offer them the same thing. If they missed something, chalk it up to a overwhelmed adjuster and move on.

Danny, $20 and lunch at Portillo's beef for your clears/bulbs. Let me know.

New turbo Legacy would be a very fine choice!

I'd still wouldn't settle for their first offer. Counter offer with ads showing how much your year maxima is going for. ie.. many ads for over $20k. Search Edmunds.com for your year car in excellent condition.

Regardless of the "why", the insurance company is totalling his car and paying him out.

Nismotech, if you want to stay with a perf vehicle dont get an Acura or any other front wheel drive car for that matter, not worth it. With rear wheel drive cars now like G35 or such there is much more potential. I love the max but the fwd is a joke.

Your reference to the president is out-of-line. Yes, he's the one who made the decision but I am sure he had consulted w/many experts or advisors prior making "the" decision. I am not solicitating his actions but realize that political topic is a totally different animal my friend...Please don't tamper w/it!!!

Nisnotech, I would stay away from turbo car simply for the engine realiabilty and cost of maintainace in the long run. Go w/the V6 or I6 automobiles and rwd if possible.

O/T, but I can't help it! Your President didn't consult anyone. He had made the decision before he was even in office, then lied to the world to get the support for hic PERSONAL goals. All of the lives lost should be on his head. I'd love to see him tried right alongside Saddam.

Hey nismo, you gotta be right by the plant where they make the Legacy.

By the way dont all insurance claims other than acts of god involve somebody making a poor judgement call? Good thread also you probably saved somebody elses a$$ with all the flooding around the country. In Risky Business Tom Cruise was dubed the U Boat Commander when he sank the 928. Hopefully you wont get a handle like that but you never know.

Nothing Nismotech did was fraudulent or immoral, just stupid. Thankfully insurance covers stupidity. Insurance premiums are paid with the expectation that if you make a claim, the insurer will provide appropriate compensation.

wow, this thread has really turn alive~~~ From my original "Flooded Max" to " Political Statments"

I am not planning on getting another FWD, I enjoy my time with my 2k2 6spd Max, but to be honest I felt bored from it b/c it was FWD. Love everything else about the car. And of course the multilink rear suspension is not exactly Independent rear suspension. I'm going to miss chirping the tires from shifting and the rush of variable Intake kicking in at 4500RPM!!

Something between, Legacy GT, Altima 3.5SE, G35 sedan 6spd, or A4 1.8T Quattro.
