Rotors and Pads for a 2000 SE

I have heard a lot of guys that have had problems with the brakes on their 2000 Maximas and I think that I am starting to experience them too. After getting of the highway or running the car hard the front brakes will grind a little right from around 10 mph to stop. I was wondering if these were the problems that so many of you have described and what replacements you used. I only have about 10,000 miles on these pads and I had the rotors turned when the pads were installed. I want to go better than OEM. I have been looking at either the Brembro slotted or cross drilled rotors with EBC pads. Is this a good combo or is there something better for about the same price? Let me know.

I also strongly suggest looking at www.mattblehm.com at their brake kit....which is what I have. Affordable and excellent.

I had a different problem. Mine was severe brake judder, pulsing and jerky stops, particularly after a hard, high speed stop. Problems came up after about every 6-8K miles. Rotors turned 2 times, but problem repeated each time.

I finally bought Stillen Cross Drilled front rotors, and their pads. Judder was gone, great stopping, but there was a whinning each time I stopped, even after 200 - 300 miles. Ultimately replaced them with resurfaced original rotors. They are quiet now, but after 6K miles, the judder is back. I will try something else very soon.
