after a p0420 and a p1320 code at the same time the light went out. But no work was done to the car. no reflash or nothing. ? ? ? ? Is the car well again or are the codes stored for later. again the car is running fine. need a tune up tho.

Nope. I have not did a thing but you can for get that post because the light is back on. an I still have not touched the car. I think its the TB restrictor being removed.

 

I got the same code once P0420, well every day.... It comes and go when it wants...so I just don't care anymore. I found interesting that when I overtight the gas cap the SES goes away. HUMMM makes me think about changing the gas cap!!!!

 

In my Maxima manual it states that the SES light turns off after a certain number of key-ons if it isn't reset. (I believe it's 20). I have the P0420 code as well, and mine turned off after a while.

I don't think the code is automatically cleared though, I think that it still remains in the memory, but the SES doesn't come on.

 

I have had/have the P0420 for about a year finally gonna take it to the dealer and get it fixed! My light has gone off twice and has come back on in a few days. Extreme cold/hot seemed to have an effect on it....

 

don't you worry bubba. it will come back. mine did the same thing.
