Place Racing Motor Mounts...Install Help

Has anyone installed their own motor mounts without a lift? If so can you give me any suggestions or advice? I have Place Racing Motor Mounts on the way. I've heard that it is recommended that you go to a shop. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks
-Tony

I just used jackstands and the jack and block under the transmission housing. wouldn't hurt to have a line up bar? available as well. the polyurethane is kinda hard to line up. basically disconnect the electronic mounts if you have them, remove the bolts holding the engine to the mounts, and remove the cross member with the mounts attached. removal and installation took me about 45 minutes and i am an amature. hardest part was lining up the mounts to the bolts, it was off by a minute amount.

PS, I recall that the Energy Suspension motor mounts have a ribbed shape to them which supposedly "decreases vibration"... do the PR Motor mounts have these? If not, maybe the Energy Suspension motor mounts will be the motor mounts of choice after they're released?

decrease vibratios? i don't even feel the vibes...it's like i never changed anything. these mounts are great. no lag on shift. no motor flex. just a nice pull. i'm getting the crossmember bushings in the mail any day now (if you look at the picture below, it's the bushings that hold the crossmember to the frame, where the 4 bolts that hold it up go into.

to go along with this thread...you can do the lower 2 mounts yourself very easily. as suggested, use a jack or anything just to hold up the tranny/motor and remove the crossmember with the 2 mounts attached. and as well, lining it up was the hardest part. actually, that took up 90% of my time. removal was a matter of a few minutes. 17mm takes car of the bolt sizes. good luck.
