Does changing the muffler void the warranty with the dealer? Will the dealer give me a hard time if I bring it to them for say the TSB for the tranny, or any other problem? Just curious.. thanks

Varies from dealer to dealer... in law and theory they have to prove the mod cause the problem. You'll most likely have a tough time with exhaust warranty work but probably not other systems.. electrical, tranny, etc.

Warranty...

Well the only thing that I have had a hard time with is after putting the eibach springs on. I went to the dealer to get the tranny tsb and they said that I voided every warranty on the car by lowering it. After cursing and raising hell I won this battle, but the saga continues to this day.

You shouldn't have any problems with only exhaust.

they really gave you a hard time b/c the car was lowered? how does the suspension have anything to do with the tranny? nissan reimburses(sp) them for the work anyway, right?

It has absolutely nothing to do with the tranny.

Once again . . .

In order to void your warranty, your dealer must PROVE that the modification either caused or contributed to the problem for which you are seeking repairs.

I suppose if you lower your car to the point where the entire undercarriage scrapes and grinds any time you drive, even on flat surfaces, then you might have a voided warranty.

Re: Re: Re: Re: Warranty...

I guess they could say you voided the warranty in everything you do!

They could say you used a 89octane gas (remember the time you ran out of gas and was forced to fill up at the country desert side leaded expensive low quality gas), they could also say that you didn't change oil or oil filter according to 5000km peridotic check (we are all busy at school or work and forgot to change the oil).

Or they could say that you voided the warranty by not washing the car with Nissan's own detergent! They could do anything to make you void your warranty. For example, if you used synthetic oil, they will say that the factory uses conventional and thereofre synthetic oil is out of spec!

Another case is that they could say that you voided your warranty by saying that you had too many overweight people riding in the car causing your ssuepsnion to sag and acts like a lowered suspension.........

Trust me, people now days say anything to save their money.......
