resetting the ECU
arite so, this is my second post about my SES light. i decided i'm just going to reset my ECU by unplugging my battery. after the ses light goes out, will it come back on again if it senses the same problem, or will it ignore it because the code is stored? im hoping its jsut a bug in the ECU, but if it isn't, i dont want to be driving a road hazard. thanks in advance for your input.

here is the thing.. most people who own 2000-2001 maximas just reset the ecu for like 45 min.. this will take the problem away but wont erase it from the ecu if its just a bug..
best thing to do ..is disconnect your battery overnight... and in the morning the light should go away and the bug will be erased from the ecu..
however if its a mechanical problem.. such as sensors... coils..etc.. the light will come back on..
i've had engine light a few times.. but after resetting the ecu it went a way for a good amount of time.
