For those w/ tint or wanting tint
You know the black matrix pattern on the rear window right?
Well long story but had to have my back window retinted today. I told him about the trouble I was having getting the tint to look right over this and maybe he could sand it. He said he'd do one better. He had a product called "dotrix" that is a water based substance that fills in the holes around the raised bumps. This will evaporate with the water left under the tint, and the matix is then no longer a problem. The stuff is expensive. About $65 a bottle for 8oz. It is think blue substance. I already notice a difference and hope the rest of you with this problem can use this info. Now you don't have to have the installer cut the tint below that matrix and they can overlay the tint so you get a uniform coverage. It looks great. I asked about others who had this. He said if you had you tint done about 4 months or less, that the installer could use a steamer to release the tint (just over the matrix). Then use this stuff and reapply the tint over the matrix. This can all be done w/o having to redo the entire tint process.

I remember when I had 5% on top of 5% on a truck of mine. After I ran over 3 mailboxes, 2 dogs and that little old lady (she was fast...just jumped right behind me!) I stripped it and just got 5% only. That's what on my max right now.
Might as well have this
