I think.......you should hit up the Acura forums for this question since:

1. likely nobody on here owns or has driven an a-spec TL (though I'm sure several will CLAIM to have driven one).

2. who cares what people here think? You trying to impress a bunch of dudes whose lives revolve around their cars? Drive the car and if you like it better than your max and you can afford it - go for it...If not, don't!

by the way, IBTM/IBTL

I work for Acura hahahaha I'm a tech over here in Chicago- most people from this area know what I think of TLs. Hey did U read the new JD Powers Survey ? Acura is ratted lower in quality than Hyundai- where I came from before I started workin for acura... and NO its not my fault their quality went down :P Its the INITIAL quality.... but hey drive a trans launcher- TL. IF Speed Kills- DRIVE A HONDA and live 4 ever

boy acura sure has fallen....my 87 Integra went 230,000 miles with not a single problem until I gave it away to charity in 1998!

My bro has a 04 TL, but not an A-Spec. Very nice car, the stereo alone is killer. If I had not dumped so much cash into my hunk o' ****, I would seriously consider getting one.

If you want AWD why not G35X? They're about the same price. But I also thinl the new TL is pretty sweet and a bit smoother looking than the new max. If you like it buy it.

Screw the TL. Get a G35 sedan or G35x sedan. Try RWD or AWD for a change.

Read JD Power's reviews... seriously the new TL sucks compared to even the old car it repleaces. Engine will not accept mods all that EZ, its compression ratio is now 11:1 and it has integral exhaust manifolds- meaning there is no header of any kind, just a J pipe as they call it that bolts up to the head ! The J pipe also removes all the cats and is good for about 10HP. Car already has a cold air intake from the factory so I don't think anything there is going to work. Basically there are no real mods for this car, even forced induction is not going to be a good idea with 11:1 compression. U really do not feel the 270HP in a 6spd at all. I hate driving the 6spd, automatic is still not as quick as the older Type S model. I get to drive a great deal of cars that come in on trade ins and such... one car I would live with on daily basis is a new M3. M5 don't do anything for me. I'm slowly thinking of getting some kind of RWD car.... and I'm thinking NSX 6spd, current gen Carrerra or a M3- ofcourse all slightly used. My Maxima is great, but it just don't have the charisma behind it like the Porsche or the BMW have !

I just went looking around some local dealerships today with my frineds and that new A-spec looks sweet, but it was like $37,000. Only car that really made me want to trade my max in was a loaded G35 C for $38,000 but thats out of my range.
