service soon?
Just got a Maxima and im not sure what everything is yet. So heres the question. Im familiar with a check engine light and throwing engine codes, but this car is giving me a "service engine soon" (i have a 2k se)
Is this the same thing as getting a check engine light or is this the same thisng as reminder to service the car.
I also tried to research it on your forums but the site wont allow me 2.
Any info is appreciated.

It is similar to a check engine light. If you hook up a code reader such as an OBD II to the port under your steering wheel it will give you the code and the description of the problem/s which is causing your "Service Engine Soon (SES)" light coming on.
