Just installed cattman y-pipe..!

just got it install this morning on my 00 se....it's cali spec, the drive home i can already feel it pulls alot better now, i will reset ecu to get the full benefit from it...last, the stock y-pipe weight at least 10lbs or more than the cattman one so some weight reduction as well...oh last question does anybody know how many pre-cat there is on 00-01 cali spec? because the cattman y-pipe only remove one...

There is a front pre cat and a rear pre cat. You removed the rear pre cat. It's a strange looking critter and has to be very restrictive. I'm confused about resetting the ECU. I've read everything from a couple hours to 24 hours for disconnecting the battery. I disconnected overnight (10 - 12 hours). How do you know if it's reset? BTW, I love my y-pipe and can feel some mid range power increase Sounds great, too.

I am thinking of getting a y-pipe also. How much did your noise level increase and how much power increase are you feeling?

I had my Budget Y-pipe installed a couple of weeks ago and it is definitely lighter, at least 10 lbs. I would say. Similarly I noticed an increase in power and it is only coupled with a K&N panel air flter. I took it for a few fast acceleration bursts when I first got it and the car stalled the second time I did it as I dumped the car (5-speed) into neutral to slow down over a stretch as I was coming up to houses in the country. That's the first and last time that has ever happened to me. I don't believe you have to reset the ECU after a Y-pipe installation. As far as I know it does it itself. That's also what I've been told.

The car has run like a top both before and after installation of the Y-pipe.

Any opinions on this?

Congrats. I also noticed very little change in the note. I took my intake off before installing the y and also have no other mods at the moment. It took about 500 miles to hear a difference and as the ecu adjusts and learns the pipe, you will notice a huge change in higher rpm ranges.

I've had this pipe for 3 years- and have had to have it repleaced 4 times now... pretty anoying- but not for too long. Front precat if removed will set off a check engine light- Cattman moves up the rear precat 02 sensor right behind the front precat O2 sensor- so now it fools the computer to think the 2nd precat is still there I removed all 3 cats, it sounds pretty good, pulls much better... I would give ya guys a sound clip but it never seems to come out alright- its a Greddy Evo with Cattman Ypipe and no cats at all. Sounds totally diff from other 5thgens with Greddy's I heard. And some people here can testament to my cars natural flame shooting out the tail pipe at nite
