I just bought a used 2003 maxima and I'm not sure if my car is silver or polished titanium... How can I know for sure?

Thanks,
Mike

you have a pic of it?... you could call up nissan and give them your vin # and they could give you the color name also.

try www.tirerack.com and search for some rims with your 2003 Maxima. There's selection on selecting color of your car. Not a perfect match but tells you color names.

Isn't the color code on the inside of the Drivers door, on the B-pillar? KY0 is Sheer Silver if I remember correctly.

Just checked... on the firewall in the engine bay.

in your signature it says black......maybe that's what it is

all these color names are such bs anyways.....
I mean, what is so SHEER about the silver,
and is there such a thing as "Sterling Mist"

hey, my car is "super" black. Yeah, it's super chipped.....

what happened to normal old colors:
silver
red
black
orange
light green
dark green
gray
bronze
etc....

my next car is going to be "Ragu Spaghetti Sauce Red" i think, or maybe "Mountain Dew Nuclear Radiation Lime Greenish-Yellow"

OKKK .... HERE YOU GO FOR ALL OF YOU INTERESTED IN THE COLOR OF YOUR CAR.... THE COLOR CODE OF YOUR CAR IS LOCATED ON THE PASSANGER SIDE - UNDERNEATH THE HOOD - ON THE FIREWALL....there is a round rectangular shape (silver on most of the cars) metal plate which has the color code of the exterior written on it ... its 4 digit long usually its letters and/or number ....for example 1999 Nissan Maxima PEARL WHITE on the top of the plate it will say NISSAN MOTOR CO., JAPAN then TYPE then CHASIS# then MODEL# then COLOR TRIM QDO G the last/fourth digit is not important really and after you have found that color trim code you can call the dealer (in this case the nissan dealer) or any paint shop in the city/town and ask them what that code stands for exactly!!!!! SIMPLE AS THAT!!!

This should help, once you've read the code off the plate:

It's Sheer Silver. Sterling Mist has a flatter look to it. Sounds like you have Sheer Silver.

Hey maybe you guys can help me with my color....... oh $hit there it is in my profile. Icelandic pearl white. hmmmmm I've heard of Iceland, but Icelandic? I think Nissan has three hats one with adjectives, one with nouns and one with colors. And yes theres probably some chick drawing the names out of the hat. Thats just my guess

Is there really a color called polished titanium? Cause I thought I read that somewhere. The color of my car doesn't look like most other silver cars... It looks more like a nickel color. Maybe the silver on the maxima is just like that. I guess I will have to get the code tonight and check.

yes there is a color called polished titanium and according to the website listed above, the code is WV2. do you know if your car has the titanium package? that's the only way you could have that color. it is a darker silver and that sounds like what you're describing.
