Visited Techno square. (positive experience)

I went to California this weekend to have Techno Square do the ecu reflash on my 2K2 six speed. Before I went down there I had some JWT cams and an Apex-i safc2 installed and dyno tuned at which time my car put down 228 fwhp. I was having problems with my car running like crap and noone could seem to figure it out. So when I went to Techno Square I was hoping the remapping they did would fix my problem. Well they had me dial the safc down to zero so the ecu had total control and then they did the reflash. After they were done I drove back home to AZ. On my way home I noticed the car was running real good and the butt dyno was registering an improvement. So I go to a local Tuning Company today called Street Flight to do some dyno runs. The guy who helped me was named Keith (real super nice guy) and he was also real good with tuning the safc. He tuned it in and we did the dyno runs. I ended up with a dyno of 241.4 fwhp and 218.1 torque!! Needless to say im extremely thrilled with my 13 hp gain over the 228 i recently put down. I am now very happy as opposed to 2 weeks ago when I wanted to go wrap my car around a telephone pole.

Should the TQ number be so low? I'm a total when it comes to engine tuning and #'s.

The torque seemed low to me but I was not sure. The runs were done in 4th gear not 3rd, but I dont know if that makes a difference or not.

Us 6-speeders are suppposed to use 4th gear to dyno in. I'm glad you got some good numbers it's nice to feel happy with your car all over again. I've always liked your Maxima.

218.1 TQ? What was you peak TQ before you got the TS ECU? When I got my TS ECU I noticed a big jump in the mid range giving me a decent boost in peak TQ. Is that a typo or do the cams really drop your low/mid torque that much?

hmmm, I have to search for the dyno sheet..

Update.. Well according to my dyno sheet here it wasnt the ecu cuz my last dyno with the cams installed and stock ecu was the same in the torque department.

yep, i can attest to the good service at TS. They are rather busy, but still friendly. It feels so "jdm" there with all the japanese techs running around.

Hahah that was my exact thought when I was there. They had no problem with me poking around their shop either. The guy who did the upgrade let me sit there and pick his brain about everything he was doing and didnt seem to mind, he in fact was very talkative.

nice write up. kudos to ts for a class place.

i looked on your site, and you list the following mods

JWT pop charger
JWT Camshafts
JWT Fly wheel
Unorthodox Racing UDP
Lineage grounding kit
Techno Square ecu
Apexi s-afc2
HotShot headers
Random Technology High Flow catalytic convertor
Budget Performance B-pipe w/Magnaflow resonator
Cattman Performance muffler

The hp # is nice and meaty, but the tq seems a bit off

From what I understand 6MT 5.5th gens are doing 220-225lb ft stock. With your mods, you should at least be in the high 240's...Maybe the warm weather has something to do, but I imagine you have corrected #'s and the dyno shop has the fans going so.

Nice clean set-up by the way.

Were the runs made on the same model dyno as the previous ones? If not you might as well throw the numbers away cause it won't be acurate.

I went to T.S. in Feb.

I live in L.A., which is 15 minutes away from Technosquare. I also had a good experience ther. The techs were cool and very knolegable. They answerd all of my questions and even gave me advice. I also feel that the gains are well worth the money.[FONT=Arial]

on those runviewer files!

nice numbers, i think torque really doesn't get that much better when u mod the 6-speed. I only have 223 lb-ft with my mods.

my 03 6spd with an OBX catback, K&N GAB, and TS ECU makes 236wtq@3400 and 237wtq@4300 SAE corrected. However I am only making 223whp at peak.

press print screen on your keyboard when the runviwer is open. Then open ms paint and go to paste or ctrl+V. "Save as" where you want it and host it.

or you can email it to me and i'l host it for you. SupeRLario@aol.com

Why do you need to save the files on the run viewer? Just email them to me.

Interesting chart. It appears to me that your car can use some more tuning.

Thats what the guy at the dyno shop was saying. He says I may have a bad knock sensor.

Besides the KS I was thinking about going in there and replacing all of the coil packs since I have already had one go bad and replacing all of the spark plugs as well. I also need to figure out why my car is throwing a code saying "fuel level sensor low input".
