12000K HID KIT with Projector Headlights

Does anybody with projectors do an HID conversion WITHOUT changing the actual projector, just plug and play? If so, how is the beam pattern (post pics if you can) and did you have to lose high beams?

Custommaxima did it, I wonder how?
(I emailed them but they most likely will not respond)

Thanks

It'd be cool if they sold the pair w/ kit installed. Kill 2 birds with one stone. :P

That sucks! The HID light won't be focused and will scatter everywhere with the projectors they used.

VQhomo, STFU, 12,000ks are off the hook. I have them and received plenty of compliments about them.

12000k is stupidly bright. Get 7-8k, something standard.

12000k is like having halogens.
They look really powerful and colorful at the headlight but as far as the light produced on the road its very minimal. If you want some color and great lighting then philips 6000k. If you just want the best output 4100k is the best. Or if you want it just for the color then go for 8000k and up. Peace.

All you are getting at 12000k is color and it's actually dimmer than OEM 4100k

I've always wondered what's the power of the HIDs that Lexus uses on the RX 330, SC430 and LS. My brother has both the RX330 and SC430 and the intensity, color, and field range is so much better than my uncle's 03 GLE.

It's the projectors. Which is why they appear blue, purple and whatever other colors. Prism effect will do that to light.

And they are all 4100-4300 on all OEM vehicles, no matter what anyone tells you, or what they look like. At least in this country....

Before you do that you have to understand that there are Halogen Projectors and Hid Projectors. The projectors that you are looking to buy are Halogens, and if you like the output and color on the lexus then what i would suggest you to do is buy the projector and then swap it for a Hid projector, preferebly Valveo(im not sure if spelled correctly) that is what one org member did so maybe you would want to contact him and he can assist you in any further questions. Peace.

If you do hook up a 12000K HID to the projectors, make sure to take pics of the beam pattern and such, I'd be very interested in doing this, but I wanna be sure of every detail before I do.

Also I have a question about HIDs, if I were to order an HID conversion kit off the net, it comes with ballast and wiring and stuff and bulb. Now, if the bulbs burn out, where can I get new bulbs without having to get another kit? And how much do the bulbs cost? I'm assuming they're not your regular PIAA 'hid' bulbs that go for around 80, are they?

Also, whats the general life of these bulbs? They say up to 3000 hours life, but is that realistic?
