Funny Smell
Funny Smell
Hi all -
I was wondering if someone could explain to me or link me to the procedure for getting rid of the mildew A/C smell...I know I read how to do it on here once and it entailed sprating Lysol into the vents, but I don't recall the exact procedure....
Also, I have a funny smell in my Max and I can't figure out where it came from exactly...It smells kind of like a mix between mildew and something rotten, and it is there even when the A/C is off, so I think it is a separate issue from the A/C mildew.....it might be from mildew on the carpets, but I'm not sre.
Anyone have any tips on how to keep their ride smelling frsh all of the time?
Any good air fresheners out there?
Is it advised to spray the carpets down with Lysol or a carpet freshener, and if so any reccomendations?
Thanks

Sounds like you need to replace the in-cabin microfilter. You can also try spraying Lysol into the vents into the area below your windshield near the wipers. Also, if you can remember, try running the fan without the A/C on for a minute or two before you shut off your car to dry up the moisture in the vents. That helps reduce the mildew buildup.
