I had the TSB done on my 01 max a few months ago because it slipped and sometimes slamed into 2nd gear when the pedal was pushed at 1/2 throttle. Well, after the tsb was done it still has the tendency to slip when i let it shift around 3500-4500 rpm. Other than that it works fine. Any suggestions. Im thinking about going back to the dealer. Has anyone who had the same tsb done had their problem solved, will a tranny cooler help, thanks a lot.

 

i had my tranny replaced under waranty.. cause of the same problem...

just take it back to the dealer and tell them to fix it the problem
if they refurse.. and you're still under warranty..
just go drive like crazy and kill the tranny then take it back to get the whole thing replaced

 

There are two parts to that tsb, they first replace the solenoids, if the problem still exists, they replace the tcm. If this is the first time you took your car in for this, there is a good chance they only replaced the solenoids. Take it back to them, and if they haven't already done so, they should replace the TCM, and hopefully that should do the trick.

i still have the problem but my warranty is out. im trying to get a hold of a TCM.

 

Are you over 60k on the car? If not, this is also covered under powertrain warranty (if you arent over 60k miles that is) Also, some dealerships warranty their own repairs, I'd see about taking the car back to them and just telling them they haven't resolved the problem ( or that it is happening again) While not many, some dealerships will help you out.

 

does anyone have the part numbers for those solenoids I got the same problem.

 

heres a LINK to the tsb. the part numbers are on the last page. dont go by that tcm number though. there are tons of part number for the tcms for both 00 & 01s. soleniod assembly should be accurate.
