damn with all you people wanting 6-speed

so there i was ultra-happy yesterday morning because i finally found what i wanted (for the Xth time) nice, dark gray 2k3 6-speed with HLSD, heated seats and bose, 45K on it.... price $15,900. couldnt ask for more. got out of the house as fast as i could, walked into the dealership (honda d-ship) and asked the guy if they still have it. he said it was sold almost as soon the ad was put on the site. i was so disappointed because the car was EVERYTHING I WANTED. seems like the hunt for a 6-speed with HLSD will be a long one...

then of course there are some dealership in freaking "anywhere" mile vicinity that are selling them for $23,000.

Yes that was a great price but it was so great because of that high mileage, 45k isnt alot of miles on the VQ but it is a whole lot for a 1 year old car and alot of people would say wow thats alot of miles. Its over 3 times the amount the average driver drives in a year here.

I'm thinking of selling my 02 majestic blue in about 3 weeks
to buy a g35 from a co-worker. unfortunatelly it does not have HLSD but on the positive side it has only 7k miles(not a
typo) it also has navigation system and the meridian package. I am thinking of asking $ 19,800 for it. Let me know if you would be interested, I am in San Diego CA.

Forget about HLSD. A 6 speed is a 6 speed!

That usually means that most of those miles are highway, which is a good thing when buying a used car. Whoever got that car got a deal, unless it's a lemon. Hopefully he/she will be on the Org soon, bragging about his new buy.

Local Hyundai dealer around my work had a 02 6spd with 22K miles in black, asking 15900 for it- leather, bose, sunroof. Dunno if it was a HLSD unit or not. If U think bout it... they probably owned the 03 for about close to 2 years if it just got traded in.... thats about 23K mile a year... and I did 34K in my 1st year I had my Max- I just passed my 3rd b-day on mine and its hitting 90K miles. And my miles are not highway miles for sure :P I would pitty the person who would buy my car in the future... not that its ever going to be for sale... I run my cars to the ground

45k is a lot of miles, especially over a year! 15gs for a car with that many miles, well depending what you want style, speed, whatever, you could've found a 5spd Twin Turbo Rx7 for that price. I found one that had 25k miles on it, red, 5spd twin turbo for 17gs. I would've bought it but I have no money. That's just an example btw there are other cars, but as long as you're happy that's all that matters...

I bought my 2002 6spd with about 9800 miles on it from a dealership (non-nissan) in Chicagoland...

Paid a little under 19K.... thing that sucks is that I'm going on my 4th week waiting for the shipping company to find a truck to ship it to Cali...

It was listed on cars.com.... an org member posted about it and I took it from there...

I bought my 6 speed 2 weeks ago. Fully loaded w/hlsd. I was looking everyday and when I saw this one I knew I needed to get there ASAP. Guy said he got about 50 calls for it. I got there and bought it before anyone else could
Use www.cars.com as well and type in the key word "manual". This is where I found mine. Autotrader is good as well.

Yeah, I used cars.com as well to find my 02 (6spd). When I was looking, I couldn't find one for under $15k if my life depended on it. The one I have now is base SE model (no sunroof, leather, Bose) and I got it for $12k and change. The money I saved will go into a custom leather kit, and I still have my DDX7015 and Navi that will go into the 02. So, the only thing I don't have is a sunroof. Oh well. I'm still happy.

I just bought my 2002 max 6sp SE for 13.500 out the door with 75,000 miles on it. I think I got a pretty good deal. Only had an O2 sensor problem which was fixed under my 1 month warranty Soon I will get my front rotors replaced cause they are warped otherwise the car is in perfect shape. Oh and one cracked fog light, but these are all common problems with the max i haven't experienced anything out of the ordinary(knock on wood).

People are really rolling these 02's with all of that mileage on alot of them that have been purchased by org members. 75k,60k etc. Thats more than most 5 year old cars.

To bad the timing wasn't right. you could have bought mine
for a few hundred dollars more. Less miles and navigation
system and only a couple of hours away. I don't think an 02
with 7k miles can be found anywhere else

I have an 01 that I bought in mid March and have already put over 7K miles on it. I got it with about 70K miles for about $11K, in good condition and was well cared for otherwise. I'm happy even though I have high mileage since I know it is a good, relaible car which should last me a good 5-10 years.

My 02 just hit 68,000 miles today. I bought it new with 5 miles on it back in March 2002. A car is meant to be driven and that is what I am doing with it.

If you had flown there and driven it back it would have been cheaper and you'd have the car already.

02icarus, how far are you willing to go to buy your "dream" car?

Dang! When you drive, you drive!! I also bought my 02 in March 02 but only have 29k on the odo, and only put about 9k on in the past 12 months. (Addmittedly, I'd probably be @ 35k if I didnt start commuting by train last August.)
