I just realized this today, after coming home from the grocery store. When I cut the ignition off, something started to squeak. So I'm like wtf and I turn my ignition on and then off again and same thing.
I cant explain how it sounds exactly. Kinda sounds like a dead person shreaking. EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEkkk.
Did anyone have a similar problem. I need help.
Thanx.

Did you check under the car? Maybe you ran somebody over and didn't realize it?

Was the sound coming from the engine compartment, under the car, etc?

I have a Stillen intake. I was thinking maybe it was my intake at first but wasn't sure. The noise is generating from that area. It happens imediately after I turn off my car and lasts for about 3 secs. What can it be?
I'm kinda worried I'll have problems later on.
Will it do any serious damage to my car?.
Does your sister have any other problems resulting from the intake?

mdeal... I ran over a couple of bodies last the year. Maybe it's their ghosts huanting my car. LoL. They live under the hood and comeout when ever the engine is off.

Re: Re: any mods?

my sisters car is perfectly fine and all my other friends cars with CAI's make the same type of noise. even my old acura legend with a regular cone intake on an alluminum pipe extension made that noise. right now, i have a home made intake mod on my car with a cone filter and there is a slight resembles of that noise. i believe the stillen has a velocity stack right? maybe it has something to do with extensions on an intake. i really have no idea, so dont take my word for it.

Fudge that!!

If I have any serious problems... I'll just put the stock airbox back in and get it warrantied.
If anyone else knows more on this topic, please help.
Thanks _DRU_.

may be the engine mounts

I had something simalar to u. When I turn my ignition on or off, some weird sound came from the front.
I brought it back to the dealer, they found out the the electrically liquid-filled engine mounts(the rear one) had to be replace.
Because the liquid is leaking.
I did that in bay ridge nissan in brooklyn, u know where is it. Don't go there, their service is really ****.
I go to Star Nissan now, nice guys there. Look for Mark Gershoff.

=)

Re: may be the engine mounts

I live 2 blocks away from Star. Their service is ok but they do ****ty mechanical work. I once had to replace my front axles for my 4th gen after getting my struts changed from them. Besides I know Frederick who's in sales. We went to the same HS. I only go there as a last resort.

Re: Re: may be the engine mounts

I dont think what you are hearing are the engine mounts, they make a chip noise (there was a thread a while back with a sound bite of the engine mount noise), what you have sounds more like the belts slipping, you might need to have them tightened or cleaned.
