Catalyst System Efficiency Below Threshold (Bank 2)
Base on the manual:
The ECM monitors the switching frequency ratio of front and rear heated oxygen sensors. A warm-up three way catalyst with high oxygen storage capacity will indicate a low switching frequency of rear heated oxygen sensor. As oxygen storage capacity decreases, the rear heated oxygen sensor switching frequency will increase. When the frequency ratio of front and rear heated oxygen sensors approaches a specified limit value, the warm-up three way catalyst malfunction is diagnosed. Malfunction is detected when warm-up three way catalyst does not operate properly, warm-up three way catalyst does not have enough oxygen storage capacity.

It is like P0420 (bank 1).

state doesnt matter. count your o2 sensors under the hood. look in front of the motor, if you have 4 then you are cali spec.

I have the same code also, but the light just stays on. I hate the dealership, so I will wait until the car dies first.

If P0430 is just like the P0420, just a different side of the car, what is one to do? Will the reflash or reprogram work also?

So P0430 should have nothing to do with a new rear section?

My 2000SE has 2 Precats (Bank 1 and Bank 2) and 1 Catalytic. My Bank 1 blew (TSB but I was out of my warranty). It's a California spec.

autozone told me this...

" the pcm has determined that the catalyst system efficiency for bank 2 is beow threshold for the current engine operation conditions. (bank 1 identifies the location of cylinder #1, while bank 2 identifies the cylinders on the opposite bank.)"

I have a fed spec...can n e on help me out...
