replace the max springs/struts with I35 ?possible?

i know the I35 is alot liek the maxima i also know those cars inside are alot smoother becasue of there suspension, the maxima is alot more stiff in the suspension area, but could i swap out my struts ans shocks and replace them with the I35s shocks and struts will the just go str8 in ? or should i replace them with the GLE struts and shocks will the gle struts and shocks be a bit more smoother and better over those harsh bumps i have a 03 SE thanks

The I35 and Maxima suspension options are identical.

Sport Package I35 suspension = Maxima SE Suspension
Regular I35 suspension = Maxima GXE, GLE Suspension

Swap the rear shocks and springs for the GLE rears. Leave the fronts alone since both use the same spring. the SE has a slightly tighter shock, though.

I did the opposite on mine...it was too soft on my '03 so I bought used SE springs off of a forum member who was converting to lowering springs. He was a great guy to deal with.

I actually still have my GLE springs and shocks around. They have 15,000 miles on them and they are in a carton in the garage.

thanks

Arent the springs exactly the same? I thought the only difference between SE and GLE suspension was stuffer shock valving.

QMAx and All:

I hadn't thought about selling them. Will mull it over.

There are positives and negatives.

Positive: The rear GLE spring/shocks ride smoother over humps. There is not as much "jarring" over potholes. The car is more compliant over uneven surfaces.

Maybe Negative: There is slightly less lateral roll resistance so the initial turn-in rate will be ever so slightly reduced when entering a turn. Unless you were very observant, you would never know the difference. Hope I'm not boring anyone being so picky.

Neutral: The GLE springs are more "progressive" in their rate. When fully loaded with 5 adults, they will initially sit a little lower and give you more vertical movement while traversing a bump. However, the final load carrying rate is the same for both cars.

I like the stiffer ride, so I switched with an forum member in New York. If I do sell them, I will sell them for the exact same price I paid with the member up there. It becomes a wash...I hate to gouge people with something that is a hobby to all of us.

Thanks
