The reason I ask is my Max goes back into the shop (yes again....6th or 7th time ) to have the ECM replaced.

The part # is 2371C-3Y119RE. This is their next line of troubleshooting on what the heck is causing my engine mounts or whatever to squeak, chirp, yelp, whatever when I apply the gas lightly or am just inching along. So far they have replaced both mounts on 2 different occasions but that did not solve the noise. I for the life of me cannot figure out how replacing the ECM will make any difference.

Can anyone

3rd time back for the same problem...jeez don't know if it is safety related but think I have a case if they can't pinpoint what is causing this noise? As far as I'm concerned if I don't know what is causing the noise and they don't, whose to say that it isn't safety related

They are gonna hate me but I'm also gonna ***** about the vibes I've been getting thru the steering wheel ever since they replaced the engine mounts...not terrible but definitly more than when they started replacing the mounts...man..this flipping car has been a headache since day 1....

Mingo....

I wish it were that easy Given the nature of this problem I bet you I will need a lawyer and many hours of time and money if I want to pursue this. It might be easier to sell the car, take a massive hit in the wallet and chalk it up as a learning experience to never trust a Nissan again...too many variables in hoping you get a good one...maybe you will like an awful lot of people here have or a ****box like I have.

I'm not putting down anyone here but I should have listened to my brain and not my heart and stayed with Toyota. Zero major problems with my 91 GTS for almost 9 years......original exhaust, struts, shocks, clutch, engine mounts, ecm, good paint, hugged the road.....arrgh...why did I get it whacked last summer arrrghhh!

Ok I'm going to take my Paxil now

Go do research on the Lemon Law... 3 times to the dealer for the same problem and you should get a new car. Don't take the loss like you mentioned because it's not a smart thing to do. Good luck.

Well I found out

the cost of the ECM and I didn't even have to ask....the SA sort of said Wow 1100 bucks for this part....

I think they've replaced more in dollar parts on this car than the amount of money I put down on it
