I was reading about some of the problems people were having with their Max... and I was wondering if anyone has had a problem with their trunk not popping open when you push the trunk release button on the remote or even from inside?
Also my glovebox is rattling and my passenger side window is making bad squeaking sounds... Anyone else have one or more of these problems?

May be the latch

Check the latch where the trunk closes. There's a way that you can adjust that latch (check owner's manual as I am reciting from memory) to prevent valets from accessing your trunk via the trunk release from the inside of the car. It also disengages your remote. If you play around where the trunk closes on the car, you will find a 'switch-type' device that can be pushed one way or the other. One way allows remote entry - the other doesn't.

If that's not it or if I missed the point, then I apologize and don't have any suggesstions.

Thanks.

That sounds right because vietvin said, "problem with their trunk not popping open when you push the trunk release button on the remote or even from inside."

Sounds like you have it locked. I don't remember if you had to flip the switch upwards or downwards... but flip it the other way.

the answer is up to allow access(normal position) and down for locked.

the reason that your trunk is not releasing is because the lock out has been activated. if you push the button on the key fob, you'll hear it try to release. look at the latch and there's a little metal piece that has some resembalance to a hook, pull it up and problem solved. i think its outlined in the owner's manual too.
