Bad MAF sensor?
Bad MAF sensor?
How do you know if a MAF Sensor is bad? I have noticed that my low end power is very inconsistant under 3500 rpms. I have no check engine lights. I drive an auto 2003 SE with 22000 miles.
Very little power at low RPMs, engine feels really sluggish when the MAF craps out. Another tale tale sign is when the car stops accelerating past 2400RPM- it goes into LIMP mode. 60MPH is max speed then and computer ignores throttle input over 25%- cutting off fuel and ignition. Car will die out if U floor it under LIMP mode. Since ya have a 03 I would suggest taking it into the dealer- any of the local ones around here for the Technicall Buletins that are out for the sucky drive by wire technology.

Will a blown MAF sensor behave the same way as an unplugged MAF sensor? I have unplugged the MAF sensor and I definitely noticed the car performed much worse. Is there an in between hit to performance that can be caused by a MAF sensor not working optimally?
