Gotta jump on this one, too.

My SES light is on for the 3rd time in 3 months.
First time I replaced the front O2. Second time I replaced both the front O2 and "after cat" O2. This time i need some recommendations. The only one left is the second O2 "before cat".

The car is going back to stock on Sunday.

get the code pulled. its the only way to tell with no doubt what the problem is. autozone and some advance auto have odb2 readers and they diagnose for free. if you are not near one then plan on paying for a diagnostic fee to a local shop or the dealer.

The one Autozone pulled was a generic exhaust code. Tguy said it could be anything. I took it to my dealer, and they said that it could be to O2 sensors.
I guess my only option is to the dealer and hope they have a more detailed diagnosis.

SES light

Just had my '00 GLE serviced for a ses light. Dealer said it was a mis-fire on one of the ignition coils. They could not determine which one, so they replaced all six. Would have been $700 if I did not have an extended warranty. My tach. would sputter during normal driving once in a while prior to my coils being fixed. Does yours do this? If so, may need the same fix as me.

My car drives like nothing is wrong with it. The light just keeps coming back.

just get the code pulled and tell us the number. I've had pretty much all the standard codes that occur with a 2000...so just say which code and it'll probably be a straight up solution

My code is the P0420 one, but I was wondering if a dealership can pinpoint it more than just an intake/exhaust problem.

I did a search earlier for a code mine threw and found these. I hope this helps a bit.

What exactly does two way catalyst mean(P0420)? Is it a pre-cat or an O2 sensor?

Well, I have P0430, same as P0420 but the other bank. Should I start with an O2 sensor/sensors? Or replace pre-cats with a y-pipe?
