A few new engine bay mods

Finally got a few pics.....

whole bay:

Ground wires and painted containers:

Battery tie down with chrome acorn caps:

I was skeptical about the ground wires, but the engine seems to idle smoother.

Yeah, I know Chris....finally got around to it!!

SR20-TURBO - I've got Maxspeeds but they didn't drop as much on my max as others. Not sure why. Looking to get a different set-up next summer....

Nope. Did you ever feel the cover? It gets really hot. Runs a bit cooler without it....my temp gauge dropped a bit after I took it off.

temp gauge dropped? the temp gauge should stay constant as the engine is designed to run between certain temperature ranges. i cant imagine taking that plastic cover off will do much of anything except expose the paint on the hood to a lil more heat.

Looks are great tho! like the red

I never thought about the hood paint. We'll see what happens.

The gauge didn't drop a lot, only a bit. I'm not sure what the range is...in the winter the gauge drops more than the drop with the cover removed.

Gotta do some cosmetic stuff to the bay, cause the 3.5 sure is ugly without that cover!

Oops...my bad. I wish Nissan hid all the wires and stuff better, like they did on your 3.0.

I guess that's true....since the only wires you can really see are my hypergrounds...

well that's why they gave you 5.5th gen guys that big, pretty engine cover!!!! We didn't have a cover, so I guess they had to hide all the wires in the thick wiring harness (which makes it a PITA if you ever have to actually access any wires )

It's the same with the 4TH gen MEVI. Why do you think the samrt people either didn't order the cover or they don't use it. All the heat from the engine gets trapped under there and has nowhere to escape.
