Synchro Problems?

not even sure if the maxima has them... But I got a 6 speed and was wondering if anyone has ever experienced two weird things that will happen that seem kind of out of the norm...

1) Only happens when I shift in a "sporty" manner... when I depress the clutch and shift up the rpm will almost "slingshot" (the best way i can put it) Basically it does a small rev after i shift out of the lower gear. It's not the way I drive either, my buddy noticed the same thing when he drove it, I was just wondering; is this normal?

2) And the weirdest one... It has only happened twice so far, the first time I thought it was my foot hitting the gas, but it happened again last night and I'm sure it didn't this time. What happens is when I downshift my engine will rev, like 7k rev, and it only stops when i throw it back into nuetral and let off the clutch...wtf is that?

that's really odd... sounds like a problem with the drive-by-wire system? (i.e. the drive-by-wire system is mis-reading the gas pedal as saying "FLOOR IT" when you really don't intend to)

old school linkage systems rock. There where really no wearable items in a normal linkage style throttle other than sometimes an IAC valve. Now with the new electornic everything era we have computers telling the throttle how much to open vs our foot. I used to work for Audi and the 1.8L Turbo engines would need new 600 dollar throttle bodies every 30K miles or so. Plus in reality how long can the little motor in the throttle body last ? It has to open and hold the engine open for how long ? I don't think it has a importal life to it ! 3.0Ls never have that problem 800RPM idle here rock solid.

Yeah, 2002+ uses the VQ35DE, which uses drive-by-wire. Pre-2002 5th gens used the VQ30DE-K, which was a mechanical throttle (throttle body/cable/cruise control cable/etc.)

there are some things that should be left mechanical...and throttle's one of 'em.

2. Turn ignition switch “ON” and wait at least 2 seconds.
3. Turn ignition switch “OFF” wait at least 10 seconds.
4. Turn ignition switch “ON” and wait at least 2 seconds.
