Transmission and Power Steering Flush

Can I do this on my own and how difficult could it be to flush the power steering? The transmission I can do, by dropping the pan and doing the rest but the power steering I have no idea on how to do it.

I have 76K miles on my car 2001 SE Pealr White, and I have never change teh tranny fluids and the PS fluids? Any advise

ok...

Ok what i did was in two stages. I opened up the power steering cap in the engine bay. I then took a turkey baster sucked all the fluid out then refilled. I reapeted this one more time a month later probably not a true 100% flush but after the second time probably like 80% of the fluid changed.

What's a turkey baster, I really need to do this? What kind of brand of fluid did you use?

I just use a plier to open the hose to the resevoir and a small container to catch whatever is in the resevoir.

What brand should I use? I went to autozone and couldn't find one that read PSFII as the book says. Can someone help me on this?

I did the same thing, using a Turkey baster, to retrieve the power steering fluid. Even did it on my girlfriends Prelude...worked well. I also sucked out some dirty brake fluid on my car...not all of it, just most it and replaced it with some cleaner stuff...

Is there a reason why you can't order something on the internet? I've found that most of the top of the line products are only available over the internet. Usually, the average Joe is unwilling to pay the extra money, so they don't stock it in the stores. If you don't care about that, then just buy whatever. Probably Nissan OEM would be your safest bet for this.

You live in one of the most densely populated areas in the country ... try picking up a phone book look in the yellow pages and call several of the dozens of speed shops in LI and ask if they carry the fluids that you want.

If you really do not know what a turkey baster is go to any supermarked and ask one of the people there to show you one.

Ah beg your pardon, I should have said Orlando rather than LI, my bad but advice is still the same.
