Wrong Forum ?

I tried posting this in the Wheel and Tire forum, but go no response.

I would like to get a nice wheel and Tire package but have some questions about weight. I will go with either a 245/40/18 or 245/35/19 performance all season tire. Probably Michelin Pilot M&S or Pirelli P-zero M&S. I want to keep weight the same or less than stock, so I want some info on the weight of tires.

Since I can find the weight of most wheels I dont need to know that, but the tires are a different story. Is there an average weight that I would be able to use for these size tires or are the different brand tires going vary too much?

Anybody have a good link to a tire weight table?

maybe you didn't get any answers there because nobody has a chart... how about you take it upon yourself to make one and post it for all to see.

I bet you could get the weight from the shipping info at tirerack.com

I've talked to tirerack before... they'd be more than happy to list the exact weight of every tire they sell.

888.541.1777 ... do some research for yourself.

Yeah, I tried that.

As for you wannabe,

Do I detect a snippy tone to your typing ? It is difficult to read emotion on a message board. I was just trying to see if anyone here had already done the research so i didnt have to. Is that SO bad?

If I do the research would you protest to me posting the results?

Thanks for the # though!

No, I'm being completely serious... call and get the answers for all the tires you're considering. If you want a list I'll start you...here's a list of tires I've looked at buying for my max for various reasons:

all 235/45-17

Sumitomo HTR+
Yokohama AVS ES100
Sumitomo HTR Z II
Falken Ziex ZE512
Conti Extreme Contacts
Potenza RE950

How much do they weigh? It wasn't a factor for me so I don't care, but if you're going to call you might as well find out about those, too. They come up often in discussions around here.

I thought you meant on their website.... my bad. I wonder how long it would take for you to go through the weights of EVERY tire they sell over the phone, lol.

not that i saw, but thanks for giving me another site to look for tires . Seems like they carry tires in sizes that Tirerack.com doesn't.
