Headers Please LOOK

Ok, As you guys know I am doing a vq35 swap into my 4th gen. Well the headers that were on the vq35 were smashed from the accident. Now I have headers off my 2k engine and I am wondering if 2k headers will fit on a vq35? I know I could remove them and pt them on but too lazy and have more important stuff to do.

Also the reason i am asking is I am thinking of myabe getting aftermarket headers for a vq35. What kind are their and I dont want to have fitment issues also. And what kind of gains and how much will they run me?

thanks

They won't fit off a 2k1 because they are different....

Hotshot makes 2k2 2k3 headers and they won't fit on 2k or 2k1s...so I don't think they will fit.

i think you guys got me wrong. i either get new aftermarket headers for the vq35 or i was wondering if 2k-2k1 headers will fit on the vq35. that was the question. but what kind of performance gains? and i hear that hotshot headers have fitment issues. and does cattman make headers? i want a easy installation with the most gains and the y-pipe is gone right if i put headers on?

I think blackbird told me that the catman headers for the 3.0 fit the 3.5..but the hotshot has more gains.

Stock VQ30 headers won't fit on a VQ35. I'm pretty sure the headers between both engines are completely different. Someone may correct me, but I think that's correct.

I don't see why they don't fit? If they can fit 3.0 liter headers on a 3.5, I am sure it will work the other way around. I think the problem is ground clearance.

Hotshot have had the best gains. But last I heard, the new wave of their headers seem to have weird fitment issues that the previous wave didn't have. Don't know what the hell happened, but it was posted here on the ORG about a month back.

That's what i am saying....they shouldn't fit without modification cause they are different.

the cattman 3.0 header fits the 3.5

the HS 3.5 header fits the 3.0 but has some minor clearance issues because the location of the o2 sensor is blocked slightly by a physical obstruction (forgot what part exactly). Sr20den had to modify the 02 to fit and it ended up throwing a code, I don't recall if there was a follow up to that.

also, since your attempting a 3.5 into a 4th gen... i don't think any 3.0 or 3.5 header would fit perfectly into your car without some type of modification. As for the stock manifolds, the 3.5 has precats integrated into the manifold design... however I am unsure whether they are different in size

no there wont be a cleareance issues with headers except ground clearence. they will fit perfectly into my car and all i will loose is ground clearence. so then i will have to get headers for my 3.5 but still dont know if i should get cattman or hotshot.

i say stick with cattman if you have the money. If you are tight on a budget, go with hotshot

i also say that since SR20 had a clearance issue, that was based on the VQ30 engine bay, where as this kids (guy, whatever you are) workign with a totally different area. point being, SR20 did somewhat succeed, so it was possible.
at this point, it's more how much more of a hassle, as it is know at least the VQ35 headers will fit guaranteed.
and yes, cattman makes headers for both motors 30 and 35.

and on a final note...GOOD LUCK! can't wait to see this finished...talk about sleeper status =) roll on stockers and have a busted corner light. i only say that cause i used to hang with this kid who had a rusted, busted, nasty a$$ integra. broken tail light, rust spots, dented doors, broken corner lights, crack on the windshield....it was a nasty POS....but he was runnin 13 flat all motor....can you say ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ.......and he didn't care...he loved the faces these people made when a car that looked like the bumper was ready to fall off was walking him with no problems.

PoLo , you are funny. it is funny hen you said "where as this kids (guy, whatever you are)" whatever you are? we are all human here man. yeah I am a 17 and I want a sleeper. and the funny things is I got 1 cracked clear corner and 1 corner lights that is cracked also. I want my car to be a sleeper cause a most people think a maxima is slow and you cant do anything to it. But that will all change when they meet me at the track or at the next redlight.

So looks like i need need to make a choice. My rear headers are ok but my front ones were cracked. so i dont know, it might be cheaper just to buy the front headers but i want aftermarket ones. how mcuh are the ones from cattman cause i didnt find it on their site?

well i found out that they are $795 plus shipping. that is too much for me. i could find some stock headers (front only) for way cheaper. kinda sucks though.

ive got the 3.5 hotshot headers on my 3.0. i have not addressed the clearance issue as of yet but i did find that a fuse marked engine control (o2 sensors) was cracked which is why i think im getting the code. i am waiting to get a new o2 sensor connector along with using a universal o2 for the one with very little clearance. according to my obd 2 software, both primary and one secondary o2 sensors are not responding but getting better gas mileage, same power and no driveability issues. i think the fuse tripped when the o2 sensor made contact with the compresssor and it acted like a ground so it blew but thats just a hypothesis.
there are definetely a few things hotshot could change to make these fit the 3.5 and 3.0 with no issues but i dont think that has been addressed yet.
