Springs / No Struts ? . . .

I have 48,500 on my car and really want to lower it but I don't have the money for struts right now...Lets just say hypothetically speaking I were to put on Progress Springs...how long do you think I could ride on them with stock struts and what would the ride be like?

no one can answer this for you!!

i put maxspeeds on my 2k with stock struts over a year ago. no problems to date! they might blow at any minute or they might last another year...no one knows!

i've heard of guys dropping their ride and the stocks dumping out in a matter of days. but, could last a year or more like mine.

i don't see the need to spend the money until one of mine blows...until then...the money is much safer in my pocket! i didn't care about anything but the drop. although the ride with maxspeeds and stock struts is no bad at all. very close to stock compared to other springs.

i installed mine myself...so didn't have to worry about lossing any install cost for have to do the same job twice.

this is a gamble you have to take...none of these guys can tell you for sure one way or another. it's up to the 'car gods', i guess.

Given the amount of miles on your stock shocks/struts, they won't last very long at all.

you are better off doing everything right the first time then to make yourself do more work. If you can't afford everything right now just save up. Your car isn't going to grow feet and run away is it? patience is your best friend.

not necessarly. like i said...i put maxspeeds on stock struts on my 2k GXE with 46k miles on it. they've been on for a year...got 53k on it now. no problems so far. might last a day, might last a year...its all a gamble and no one can say for sure! just be prepared because it will kill them quicker than usual for sure.
