2000 Maxima Sunroof Motor Timing Problem
I am having an issue with the sunroof motor in my 2000 max. When you try to open it, the window will only open in increments. This happened last year and I brought the car to the dealer who said the motor timing was off. They charged me 80 plus dollars to fix it and now the problem is back. Does anyone no of a way of fixing this problem without going to the dealer? I thought of maybe pulling the fuse out for the motor and then putting it back in. Sort of a motor reboot. Any ideas?

...the members talk of disconnecting the battery, or removing a circuit breaker that supplies power to the sunroof. I tried this, but it did not work. I may try it again, leaving the relay out for a period of time.
I'll keep searching, let me know if you find something that works.
/** UPDATE **/
I got mine to work again!
I did so by first, nudging the sunroof closed, then removing the circuit breaker E90, under the dash on the drivers side, right above the dead pedal. You could also disconnect the battery, but remember you'll lose radio presets, trouble codes, etc. Leave power disconnected for a few minutes, then reconnect.
If you go the circuit breaker route, remember to close the doors after removing the breaker. If you don't, the RAP signal (retained power, the thing that keeps power to the windows after shutting the car off, but before opening the doors) will keep power to the motor and defeat the purpose of removing the breaker. The first time I removed the breaker, I left the door open.
Anyway, this did the trick. Hope it works for you.
