What do you think Nissan will say about this... please help.

Well, While i was installing my tv in my car, i figured since i had everything apart, i would change the climate control buttons to blue.... simple enough. everything was going well, untill i had to put it back together. i did not have enought clearance for the added wires. so i cut 3 holes in the back of it for them to stick out of. so far so good.

then when i put it back together again, it still didn't fit. I was tired, sick of fiberglassing the tv, i was almost done, and i had not had any food for over 12 hours. needless to say i was like a zombie, and was not thinking clearly. so i just screewed it in anyway. big mistake. if you have ever taken apart the climate contol on a 2k2 max, you will know what i am talking about for this next paragraph, if not, try to bear with me. there are two parts of circuit boards for the CC, and they plug into each other via 8-10 pins. well, i forgot about that, and just screwed it down anyway. i pluged it in, and i fried the whole unit. it will not turn on, or light up. i checked all fuses.

now, heres my issue. i know that the unit will be huge $$$, so if i take it to nissan, do you think they will take it apart to look at it? you think i should try? i do not what to spend their pice to look at it if they are not going to replace it for free...since then i would have to pay them, and get a new unit. any ideas?

sorry this is so long... any input would be nice...

-Chris

to have htem look at it will just cost u like 80 bux an hour, then they'll just end up telling u "we cannot fix this problem since this has been tampered with by the user and thus it is not covered under warranty"

i would say ur best bet at this point is to find the unit at a junkyard or post a WTB ad in the classifieds...

good luck
