new owner..ready to fix up ride

I just bought an 02 SE, and i was wondering what type of bulbs (foglights) to change out to match the xenon HID...I been looking throught the ebay pages and found some Xenon HID Foglights H3, and i was wondering if those are any good. they seem to good to be true for only 6 bucks..

im planning on changing the side lights, rear and front.
and thinking about getting the Black Halos...

thanks for your help.

any suggestions on what to do to my car would be helpful ( new at this )

its 02 SE, auto, blueish color..

the cheapo bulbs on ebay aren't real HID xenon bulbs, they're just knock-off halogens that'll probably burn out. PIAA makes good H3 bulbs for the fogs. the Super Plasmas are a pretty good match with the 02 HID. there's pics of them on my cardomain page (i'm not running 02 HIDs though).

some people complain of them burning out after about six months, but i've had no problems with them for about 8 months now, and they're warrantied as well.
you can find em for good prices at www.optauto.com

if you wanna go all out, you can install HIDs into your fog light housings. this will run you a couple hundred for parts (bulbs, ballasts etc.)
here's an example of a car with HIDs in the fogs http://www.cardomain.com/id/igor911

First thing you should do.. is put back all those little cosmetic stuff
and get a Big Brake Kit.. and save yourself the sanity .. cause your rotors are gonna warp like no other..

then get a body kit...

your foglights are H3 bulbs. here is a link to the exact bulb you want (if you choose to go with super plasmas)

they run any where from 500 - 3000

you can get the BBk from Blemco..
here are your popular option
300zx calipers with 300zx rotors ( most popular i guess)
300zx calipers with 04 maxima rotors ( pretty good combo)
stock calipers with 04 maxima rotors ( decent with better braking power than stock)
these are around 300-800 bucks

BBK from Derrick ( he's on the org and thats his org name and real name)

Z32 Complete kit for around 500 bucks.. really good kit.. custom

and then there are the stillen and other kits that are more expensive

there are ALOT better ones but i dont think you woulb want to pay 2-3K for brake kit..

all the options above are really good

irotors.com has an ongoing group deal for all their rotors, zincplated to protect rust and slotted/xdrilled/both.

as far as the lights are concerned. i'm on my 3rd set of OEM fogs and after 2 sets of fog bulbs, i gave up. this 3rd set of oem fogs are cracked, and they're staying that way, and i'm on oem fog bulbs. you'll learn not give a damn and you'll save your money. people ask me "why didn't you change the fogs".....who cares...i don't....

If you get new fogs, make sure that they are 55w. If they are higher you run the risk of frying the wires. I have the PIAA Xtreme white and am pretty satisfied with 'em.

polo....so ur saying that the bulbs u had burned out or that they were damaged while driving? well your car kits is real nice.. what is it called? im trying to get a kit on mine but havent decided which one yet...how hard is it really to install the kit yourself?...did u clear your lights out or are those bought?

UGAD13...if i get something lower than 55w, what is the effect...( it isnt as bright?)....i have been hearing that PIAA Xtreme white are the ones to get so i will most likely get those...

1) thanx...took 2 years, and still not done. although i've lost enthusiasm. i have a condo i have to start saving up for.

2) on both occassions, i blew bulbs for no reason or due to moisture. the moisture was because the fogs cracked and water got in. what i don't get is that i've had these cracked fogs with oem bulbs for months now with no problems. but the second i put narva golds or piaa super plasma's, they blew within 2 months. after that, i just didn't care. i guess some people care, but after awhile you realize that "wow, i'm just throwin my money away". well most of what we do is throwing money away, but these fogs, they're not that important, at least to me.

3) the front is a MaxxTuning Lip (www.southwestautoworks.com, call them up and tell them you're from maxima.org for a good price)...the rear is a stillen lip. purchased from avalonracing.net for a good price. depending on your location, it may be cheaper somewhere else. avalon is in connecticut, so i saved with them. if you get the lip from southwest autoworks, see what they can do to combine shipping. that may be the best deal for you. side skirts are OEM 02/03 skirts. i feel they look better than the stillens simply because there is no drastic change. for 00/01's, stillen side skirts are good because they don't come with any skrits.

4) yes, headlights are OEM, and i opened them myself, as many others have done already. be patient, and it can be done. it is nerve racking, as they are very expensive, but if done right, they look nice. important thing is to also make sure the headlights are properly sealed when you close them up to avoid moisture.

Not sure about the technical mumbo jumbo, but the 55w bulbs are the stock wattage for our fogs. If you were to get lower wattage bulbs, I believe that they will not be as bright. Just stick to 55w and you'll be fine.
And welcome to the org!!! If you haven't read all the stickies, you should. You'll find a lot of answers to questions that you'll come up with.
