RSB and turn tracking

I undertand what a RSB will do for me (and it's first on my very short list of near-future mods), though I wonder if it will help one particular problem I'm seeing. When I really get into a sweeping corner like an offramp or onramp, The car handles the turn fine, but I feel a little bit of "wobble" feedback, like the car just isn't comfortable tracking along the line that I want to take. Has anyone else felt this in their max? Will the RSB tighten up a long, sweeping turn taken at speed or is it best suited to hard, fast corners? Thanks.

as far as traking. if u feel your car is slipping you should check your tires..

but rsb does a great job at preventing the rear end of the car from rollling .. and you want get that fish tail feelings..

We installed a Progress bar on my buddies 2k3 max.

I swear, its scary how much oversteer it creates. We took a hard corner and lost the rear end. Something that never happens on my 2k3. But it does reduce the roll, and if you get used to it, it is a significant improvement from understeer to oversteer tendency.

This mod is not for everybody, and once you install it, should drive around and get a feel for it before taking a hard turn into a corner.

Trail braking will almost guarantee oversteer and loss of rear end control

get a LTB - it counteracts the oversteer created by the RSB....so the front and rear are balanced again and body roll is minimized...

blehmCo (www.mattblehm.com)....quality is good, works great. Getting it on takes a few things:
1. impact wrench
2. lift (you can do it with jackstands, but it's much more difficult)
3. ALOT of patience...took me several tries over several days to get it on, fitted correctly, and tightened completely. But now that I know how to do it right, I could probably do it in an hour....well worth the trouble though!

would the stage 1 LTB work or would you recommend getting the stage 2? and it is a simple bolt on installation?

yes, it's bolt-on.....it's not exactly "simple" (see instructions on blehmco site..) but if you do it right and take your time it's not that hard. impact wrench is a must....would be almost impossible to do with breaker bar/torque wrench by hand....

Stage 1 LTB I suppose just has less stiffening....I don't know of any 5th genners with the stage 1, but several of us have the stage 2 now.....

Thanks for the replies guys. Since the forum was down for a while I missed the updates.

I think a RSB is on the way soon, though I have to sort out a couple of non-car related things first so that I'll have a place to install the thing myself. I never even thoguht of an LTB, but now that it's been brought up I'll do a little research.

Smoon629, the only things I'm really considering as far as mods right now are the RSB (and maybe LTB), lowering the car a *little*, and some wheels when I change my tires from the Potenzas. I might hold off on nice wheels until the spring, put some winter tires on my stock wheels, then do a wheel/tire package when the weather gets nice again. I'm sure by that time I'll have some more mods in mind (HID, exhaust, etc, etc, etc)

Irish, the more I read about that stage 2 LTB the more I am starting to think about it. Did you notice a big difference after the install on your 5th gen? How much clearance do you really lose? I'm thinking about lowering my car a little later on, and I'm already concerned about scraping my AE body kit. I wouldn't want to bottom out to the point where it's a big concern in daily driving.
