I think I just messed up my 5sp
My car has 64K miles on it...so no warranty. Anyway I missed a shift from 1st to 2nd and heard some grinding, wasn't really that bad and I didn't hink much of it till I tried driving it afterward. It seems unusually hard to move the shifter to the right, like if you were going to shift from second to fifth (not that I do this on a regular basis just using it as an example). Moving it to my left is a bit easier but still feels kinda stiff. Going in and out of gears seems fine, just the left right motion moving between gates is hard.
Anyone know what went out? Also, since I am no longer covered by warranty, should I still take it to the dealer or am I better off with someone like AAMCO?

Maybe you will find an old hard french fry or somthing... Seriously check.. also.. lOOK under HOOD.. at the linkage on the top side of the tranny... Maybe a cable or hose is in the way of its travel... just check it in the day time with good light. Check the linkage for damage or just out of place.. ITS ON TOP OF THE TRANS EASY TO SEE.. if you have a stock air box it may help to remove it so you can see what is going on.
GOOD LUCK THINK SIMPLE BEFORE YOU TAKE IT IN.
