Clicking Accelrator Pedal

I have a 2002 GLE and 98% of the time when I step on the gas i hear a click, kind of like a relay or switch. I went to my dealer and he "lubed it a little" saying it was an electronic throttle bla bla bla. Needless to say 2 days later click click click again.

Should I ask to have the throttle pedal swapped out under warranty or is this normal??

OK, besides the "pump up the volume" solution anyone else have a recommendation?

Thanks,
Keith

I read a long time ago someone brought theirs in and complained and the whole pedal assembly was replaced as a "known problem."

Bring it back and don't leave until it's fixed.

Yeh, I was one of those who posted about that a long time ago. Just goto another dealer or keep going back to the same one till they fix it by replacing the entire assembly -- that's what they did to fix mine.

Deductible? Are you out of the 3yr/36k mile warranty already?

I have no clue how much the part costs, but I'm assuming it'd be more than $100 as they have to replace the entire assembly. If you can live w/it & 1 sound isn't worth $100 than it won't hurt to just leave it as is IMO.

They better change it , the sound makes me nuts. Even if I turn up the volume on the stereo I can still "feel" the clicking in my foot.

Maybe I'm nuts already.
