2002 Max w/Bose 6 disc question

I just had my Bose 6 disc head unit changed due to the left speaker cut out problem and I have 2 quick questions:

1) Not one disc I have ever put in the car has displayed the disc title or song titles, they always say "No title" Is this normal? My first head unit I had the same thing.

2) On the automatic climate control unit are the "auto" "off" "Econ" buttons supposed to light up at night, mine don't but I can't remember if they ever did.

Thanks for the help,

Keith

Oh, one more thing:

On the GLE model with the black face gauges, do you guys find they are not very bright at night, even with the dimmer switch rolled all the way up? My friend has an 02 I35 and the dash is bright as the sun.

the discs only show titles if the cd has cd text some cd's you buy have this (not many i dont think) if you are burning a cd you have an option of using cd text so it displays on units such as ours.

Well the I35 has the Electro luminiscent instrumentation similiar to those on Lexus and the Max has the old fashioned light system, thats why his so much brighter than yours.

I was just checking these out on the courtesy parts site.

It says:

Fits all factory 2-DIN receivers with built-in autochanger controls

For 1-DIN receivers, a separate 6-Disc CD Commander (sold separately, see link below) mounts flush in extra 1-DIN size opening under radio for custom, factory-installed appearance.

Does anyone know if a 2000 GLE Maxima is 2-DIN or 1-DIN?

Is the installation easy?

I'm thinking about getting one because my iPod setup has started to sound like garbage. The vocals are kind of distorted and it's driving me ape sh*t.

Thanks,

Clyde.

You may want to call them, they'll be able to tell you.

The auto/econ/off buttons didn't light up AFTER the TSB....they did before the swap, but I never bothered to ask them to fix the prob....
