Is there an easy way to get the grille off ?

It appears to be separate from the bumper cover, but I don't see any screws?

This is on a 2002 Max...

Help?

I think the grill is in two pieces. The trim and the actual grill section. Look for 3 push type clips up top that hold it to the upper radiator support, then I think the rest just snaps out.

The grill is one piece, there are 3 screws holding it in from the back, two are on the lower corners, and the third is right in the center behind the nissan logo

Is there access to these screws from the front?
I don't think there's an easy way to get at the backside...
How do you get the Nissan logo off without breaking it?

Thanks!

You have to get the screws from behind the grille. It helps to have small hands. The grille pulls out after the screws are removed. After it's out, you will see 3 small tabs to release the logo.

You have a 2000... you don't have a choice... 2002/2003 can remove the grills without having to cut them...

I got the Super Black paint matched at a local paint store that specializes in auto paint. Logo is Testor's 'Boyd' Smoke Gray Pearl. Not that hard to do, but the grille chips easily. I have touched it up many times.

Have you tried clear coating it? Should reduce chipping.

I didn't do the clear coat thing. I'm sure it would reduce the chips. If/when it needs repainting, I'll clear coat it.

Geez WTF were they thinking when they mounted it from the back...damn near every vehicle you can get to the screws from the front, I mean how hard would it have been?!? After all they're tiny screws and they'd be hidden back in a dark corner anyway! I just tried to get at the mounts and while I did squeeze my hand back there I can't even feel where the screws are, much less be able to get in there with a screwdriver.
End of rant, but I would still really like to give the idiot designer responsible for it a

when you repainted it, did you sand off the original paint or just paint over? did you use a primer?

The stock grille isn't painted, it's colored plastic. Washed with Dawn and rubbed with 000 steel wool. Then 2 coats of primer, then the black.
