Are Maxspeed and Goldline the same thing?

Saw some guy's car - he said his springs were maxspeed but they said goldline on the box....also the drop "appeared" lower than org'ers I've seen with maxspeeds? anyone know?

Can you see the springs themselves? Maxspeeds are more of a "bright" yellow, while Goldlines are...well...gold. Maybe goldenrod.

look here: they look like maxspeeds....just wondering, since my maxspeeds are in the mail as we speak.

this guy has a pretty decent site and mods considering he's only had the car for less than a month....don't think he's an org'er though...

his rear end sags tho...

if anything, i thought with maxspeeds, the rear ends up being ~1 inch higher than the fronts

that's what I thought....his car is a little lower than I want to go...that's why I ordered the Maxspeeds, bc the drop is not that much and they sit higher inthe back...

Looking at his site and seeing that the springs are yellow, and he states that "maxspeeds used to go by the name 'gold line' ", so I'd guess that they are one in the same..Where he got those old springs though is anyone's best guess...?

yeah I know he said that...but maybe the place that sold him the springs just told him that....doesn't mean it's true. I mean, the 5th gen max has only been around for 5 years - doesn't anyone here know if within the last 5 years the maxspeed springs were ever known as "goldline"?

I've never heard of it before. They look exactly like Maxspeeds though. Which is more expensive though?

Maxspeeds are uneven, just like most of the springs for our car.

Not true, my Maxspeeds are even. Remember though, the front wheel wells are bigger then the back.

the real way to judge a drop is after they settle- there are plenty of reasons why many were quick to ditch Maxspeeds

care to specify those reasons?

and "not low enough" is not a reason, as far as I'm concerned.

Shut up Irish. I had Maxspeeds before, and they were uneven when you measure finger gaps. General consensus is that they're it's still higher in front than in back. Have your doubts? You'll see....

if the front is still higher in the front then back, that's fine by me...I'm doing it for the handling and ride quality, not the looks. maybe you haven't noticed that I generally do things for functionality/performance rather than for appearance....others prefer flashy rims, body kits, etc...I prefer to keep it stealth.

If you've read my posts in the past, you would see that I never wanted to drop the car anyways - I'm just doing it because my OEM springs are sagging in the back and the Maxspeeds are cheaper than getting a new set of OEMs (and figured I'd see if it helps my handling vs. SE springs..) also, I am putting in Illuminas so figured I might as well experiment with some springs while I was at it.

I chose the Maxspeeds mostly because they are a mild drop and will still look pretty close to stock...

OH, BY THE WAY, THIS THREAD WAS SIMPLY ASKING IF "GOLD LINE" IS THE SAME AS "MAXSPEED"....but as usual, instead of simply giving an informed answer to the question, everyone has to start getting into a p1ssing match about "my springs are better than yours". I'm partly to blame too cuz I get sucked into the arguing too...

bottom line: I don't care about peoples' views of various springs at this point. I can search the org. I have seen everyone's opinions in a million other threads.

so, if anyone actually knows the answer to my original question, by all means post.

oh, and "maxspeeds are yellow and gold line are yellow, so they must be the same" is not an acceptable answer

Speaking of sagging, can someone tell me which would be the best to get for a car that already sags in the back? I have a large audio system installed right over the rear beam which lowered the back 1.5 inches and I'm looking to add rims but want to avoid the 4x4 front. Should I just get front springs?

You can do just front springs if you just want to get rid of the body gap. Just be prepared for even worse understeer. That's what I'm experiencing now and the reason why I will be doing my rear suspension shortly.

I got them from www.abtivanconcepts.com. The springs themselves were about $100 but the shipping is pretty $$ (like $35)....I've seen them cheaper in GD's and other places, but abtivan has them in stock and they shipped immediately, which I'm willing to pay a little extra for....

actually, that place has quite a bit of good stuff for the maxima - surprised I've never seen it mentioned here.

Thanks Irish! It all seems to be that way. There are amny places that sell springs at good price, but the shipping is $$$ - adventon being one of them.
