Pulled a P0138 code today

I recently put on a cattman y pipe on my 2000 fed spec maxima. This is the second time this light has came on. I brought it to the dealer and he said that i will just have to live with that light forever because the aftermarket y pipe replaced some of the catalytic converters. I was wondering if the ECU will ever "get use to" the fact that there is no pre cats. Or will I really have this light come on intermittenly forever? Any help would be appreciated. Also I heard that you could reflash the ECU, how would go about doing this? Thanks

to reset the ECU on a 2000 max unplug the negative battery terminal. The amount of time it needs to be unpluged to clear the code varies car to car. You can also have Autozone clear the code. I dont know if the dealer is 100% right about your y pipe; I'm no expert though.
