I've seen mp3 discmans at target of all places... with car kit for under $100, name brand too. There are to my knowledge no MP3 CD changers yet most likely because how then hell are stock radios going to be able to navigate folders and 200+ songs? If you want better sound quality and don't want to totally kill your stock look maybe get the GXE dash and put an in dash mp3 player in.

Why don't you covert your mp3s into wav files and burn them. That way you can listen to it in your stock radio & lose about 250 other songs.

Why not an MP3 player, plugged into the deck as a less pricey alternative? Burning Cd's is a pain in the ***.

Neo 35 Jukebox
The Neo35 looks interesting to me. It is supposedly trunk-mountable, with a remote control:

Problem with the above two changers is they don't use CDs. Using the memory cards is an expensive waste since you don't get near the storage you do on a CDR and the other one has a built in HD so again.. no CDRs. I like my in dash player
whee!
whee!
I just bought the
Nomad Jukebox from Creative Labs. It holds 6gb worth of music. They come with 2 sets of 4 rechargable batteries but this thing eats power like crazy. On a full charge they last an average of only an hour of straight play. What I did was buy a power inverter, it plugs into the cigarette adapter and you basically have a power outlet in the car. The jukebox holds up to 150 cd's! I have over 250 songs downloaded and it still has over 5 gigs worth of free space. You cant go wrong with this thing. The only thing is that it's expensive. I spent $500.00 on mine. You can go to www.nomadworld.com to check it out. You can also bid on it through Ebay.
recommendation
I was thinking along your exact lines... (i posted in the audio forum a few weeks ago with your EXACT question)
The most attractive option if you don't want to replace the stock deck, is to get an mp3 discman, and an fm transceiver (and then listen to the discman through your FM radio)..
You DO suffer from a minor loss in quality when using the FM transciever, **BUT** you avoid the unsightly casette adapter...
Important consideration for me was a wired remote (so that i could hide it under a seat)... Both the Rio Volt (~$169) and the cheaper rio volt clone "soul" ($129 @ www.compgeeks.com) fit this bill.... if you want to forgo the remote control, compgeeks.com also sells the older Tavarua player for $69...

$129 for "cd-changer like" capacity is pretty damn good.... don't you think???
