Anyone has any experience with these tires (215/55/16) on 16" wheels on 2001 Maxima?

I have the Kuhmo Supra 712s(new kind) in 235-45-17. Very nice tires for the price. Lotsa people are happy with these tires in general(every size). www.tirerack.com has lots of reviews.

i had the 215/45/17 on my 93 last summer and they were great. i'll have them on my 01 sometime within the next month. i'm sure that they'll be just as good. hell, anything will beat the stock 15's on the GXE.

Funny thing! I got the exactly the same 2001 Maxima GXE with super black color and 15" steel wheels. Is yours 5-spd (the only reason I bought mine)?

definately. there was no way that i was going to make the mistake of buying an auto maxima again. i highly suggest getting the front strut bar when you put on bigger/better wheels. i got mine 2 weeks ago and its like night and day. i'm anxious to see how much it improves again when i switch wheel sizes.

Deja Vu

Looks lik we are in the same GXE super black club. I pick mine up next friday in texas, then I get the joy of testing it out on the way back to Denver. First mod has to be wheels/tires. Those steels with covers have to go! FSTB next.

I got the Kumho Supra Tires also, I got them put on my new Chrome Rims, 235/45/17. Man they are THE BEST tires for rain traction. They have the largest V channel you can possibly have and I have been on a very rainy day going about 110mph on the highway with them on, and I feel no floating or hydro-planing.

I highly recommend them for that, but if you get SNOW in your area, these tires are worthless for SNOW traction.

I put my summer wheels with kumho's on yesterday and the max loves it! going from s rated to z rated tires is a must do if you have a stock gxe. the ride isn't compromised at all as i thought it might be due to the smaller/stiffer sidewall.
